In china and overseas, the number of high-rise buildings and the scale of development is increasing rapidly year by year, to choose the suitable structural system for high-rise building is one of the important issues for the development. Frame-shear wall (tube) structure is one kind of scientific, rational and economical high-rise building structure system, it is a problem that has learning significance and project's significance, but the theory and the method about optimum layout of shear wall in the frame-shear wall (tube) structure have not been solved.On the basis of genetic algorithm, the theory and the method about the optimum layout of shear wall and horizontal strengthen layers in the frame-shear wall (tube) structure are discussed and researched in the paper, a kind of the theory and the method was studied out about the optimum layout of shear wall in the frame-shear wall (tube) structure (include optimum location of horizontal strengthen layers and optimum layout the shear walls). it makes the structure to meet the specification's requirement, and to get reasonable shear walls'layout, and to decrease the seismic action, to reduce construction cost. Therefore, the issue has practical construction value and economic significance, and there is research and development's space in the respect.In this paper, genetic algorithm is used to the optimum layout of shear wall in the frame-shear wall (tube) structure, the optimization procedures are wrote. The method could be generally applied to the optimum layout of shear wall in the different conditional frame-shear wall (tube) structure. it the paper's method is scientific, rational, feasible, and have general applicability, there is also more reliable theoretical basis, comparing with references, the method is proved.
