With the economic development and the technological progress, the retaining structure have been developed from the traditional gravity retaining wall into new light retaining structure. Such as cantilever, supporting wall, anchor, anchor plates, reinforced earth retaining walls, soil nailing, cable and other new retaining structure,which has been widely used in the Engineering Construction.Cantilever retaining wall is one of the most commonly used light retaining walls, which owns the mechanical characteristics of soft light, and the engineering characteristics of section simple and convenient construction. However, previous studies limited to the single cantilever retaining wall structure, while not deeply consider the combination with other retaining structures. This paper will explore a new type of composite cantilever retaining wall--anchor-cantilever retaining wall.This paper introduces the structure, design and computation theory of the cantilever retaining wall and anchor firstly, then checks the structural stability based on an engineering example. It was proved that when cantilever retaining wall worked alone, stability against overturning and bearing capacity met the demands, while the ability of anti-sliding didn't meet the requirements through the theoretical calculation, so it would be anchored to take additional measures. In this paper, the numerical simulations were taken for the three conditions of the project by ADINA. Through comparative analysis the horizontal displacement of the top and bottom of the wall and the vertical displacement of the filled surface, it was showed that the retaining wall overturning stability and sliding stability are greatly improved and meet regulatory requirements, after the cantilever retaining wall board had been established additional bolt; bolt set height in the Legislative board of retaining wall structures alse have great influence on performance. Finally, bases on the project monitoring data, it showed that the horizontal displacement of the top of the wall, filled soil, and the monitoring point met the deformation control of engineering and experience requirements, the ground settlement also did.Anchor-cantilever retaining wall, which was advanced in this paper, is a new support method for slope engineering and foundation engineering. This structure is not only lighter, but also improves the structural stability of the retaining wall from the synergy effect on the whole, so its prospects are foreseeable.
