Industrial Heritage Protection And Development Issues In The Context Of Urban Renewal Study

At present, China is in the special historical period which is from industrialized society to post industrial society, and now our country is also experiencing a phase of fast urbanization, which leads to the expansion of urban scale. In this procedure, the expansion of urban scale requires more urban constructive lands, whereas land resources in the city are limited, which results in the development of city must face more problems of urban renewal. However, in the urban renewal, because of the upgrading and changing of industrial structure, a great quantity of old industrial district in city were abandoned, which become one of the primary objective of urban renewal.Facing the pressure of urban renewal, in the old industrial areas of these cities, a large number of old industrial buildings and areas have been or are being severely damaged, including numerous valuable industrial heritages. Therefore, how to reasonably protect and effectively use industrial heritages have become a important issues in the development of city.The object of this study is the protection and development of industrial heritage in the background of urban renewal. Through the study of the theory and practice on urban renewal and protection and development of industrial heritage, the analysis of industrial heritage on the impact of urban renewal, proposed protection measures and development models of industrial heritage, estimated the value of urban industrial heritage. The concrete objects take the case of Xi'an, the analysis of urban renewal, practice on protection and development of industrial heritage in Xi'an, the evaluation of part of the industrial heritages'value, provided protection measures and development strategy in Xi'an. Finally, research on actual case-Textile city art District, put forward the idea of reform and design.
