The belt conveyor is the most important translation equipment which can carry categories of materials. The DTII belt conveyor is currently used most extensive. In it, the mechanical driven structure is the most important part in the equipments, it includes pulley and pulley support, in actually, it is also the destructive parts most easily. Depend on a traditional design calculation, have already can't satisfied the modern condition of the credibility and the economy request, as a result need to adopt a modern design's method to carry on analytic study and design calculation.Firstly, in the process of study, the computing method about the DTII belt conveyor was investigated widely and it was clarified that the application of FEA is essential on the calculation and study of the mechanical driven structure.Secondly, in the initial stages of the study, author studied systematically foundation knowledges of finite element analysis and the four classicial strength theories of material mechanics.Later, for pulley and pulley support, author created 3D model with Pro/E and analysed with ANSYS. Also, author carried through a model structure work to the driven pulley especially. It is carried out that main geometrical dimensions of model were parametric structured.Finally, author adopted reasonable gird demarcation and carried on series engineering analysis with ANSYS, getting intension numerical values and rigid numerical values of pulley and pulley support. For a great deal of investigation, analysis results agreed with actual circumstance.In a word, ANSYS, Pro/E and intelligent parameter software were all used in this article. Integrating advantages of this three software, author created the parametric 3D model of pulley and pulley support and analysed mechanical intension with finite element methods, also aiming to the driven pulley, author carried out 3D parametric modeling and programmed analysis.
