The use of artificial illuminations in interior design for clothing specialty stores has been an increasing concern in 21st century. On one hand, the development of science and technology brings manufacturing technology innovations, meanwhile the growing buying capacity changed the consuming sense to a certain extent. Today, more consumers concerned more about mental satisfaction on the basis of original material consumption. In order to attract more target consumers, business traders would like to pay more money to create a more attractive shopping environment, thus the luminous environment is one of the points between producers and customers as an important inter-medium. On the other hand, design is part of future. Ideal accomplishes future, and fulfil it. And so is the design of luminous environment in stores.This thesis is divided into three parts. The first part expounds the internal relations among luminous environment and social life and consumer culture; and reinforce the understanding to business environment at the age of high consumption theoretically. The second part illustrates design techniques and artistic expression on artificial luminations through example analysis. In the third part the author summarizes the design procedures for commercial luminous environment, and recommend some personal lateral thinking to the design of artificial luminations for stores in future.
