Spectrum analyzer is a kind of test instrument which analyzes signal in frequency domain and draws spectrum distribution, its development has experienced the gradual process from analog to digital process, all-digital IF processing refers to those spectrum analyzer who accomplish IF signal process by digital equipment. The whole control of digital sprctrum analyzer is particularly important, a comprehensive whole control strategy, hardware design and software design is needed to coordinate each function module and complete the process of spectrum analyzing.Relying on the research of "general-purpose digital spectrum analyzer" in the laboratory, after making a good understand of the hardware architecture of digital spectrum analyzer, this dissertation made a detail study on the whole control of this instrument, include whole control strategy design, whole control logic design and control software workflow design, almost complete the control design of the main hardware such as radio frequency channel, low phase noise LO sweeping source, real-time automatic amplitude control, digital filtering and decimation and digital amplitude detection control.The control of this digital spectrum analyzer should be compromised between control software design and control logic design, such as function distribution of the parse of control words, the linkage between control words and display control functions. In the aspect of software design, it needs a balance and a good function allocation between monitor software and computer based software, in this design, monitoring software is to monitor all the hardware operation status and parse user operation, it also complete FFT process when the user set a small resolution bandwidth; computer based software design is used for acquiring instrument parameter set by user, and also responsible for displaying the spectrum distribution and relative signal propose. Control logic is mainly responsible for the transmission and time restructuring of control words, a correct transmission of control words to hardware is the assurance of correct response. Control logic also assigns bus resources for each hardware unit, which can ensure reliability of the instrument. This dissertation gives a detail elaborate of digital spectrum analyzer whole control strategy, control hardware design and control software design, and gives part of the debug results, which verifies the feasibility of the control strategy and its realization.
