Spectrum analyzer is used to study frequency spectrum characteristics of radiosignal. It is one of the most widely used instruments in electronic measurementinstruments. It is widely used in many fields such as science education, productionresearch and development. Portable spectrum analyzer featuring in small volume, lightweight, high cost performance, etc has the very good market prospect.The thesis firstly introduces the principle of the digital IF spectrum analyzer, andfurther presents the whole design scheme of a digital IF spectrum analyzer based onembedded system. This thesis focuses on the design principles about the digital IF anddisplay and control hardware platform, and according to the design requirements to theappropriate components are chosen to complete the design of hardware platform. Themain tasks completed by the digital IF circuit contain analog IF signal conditioning, thetest data transmission and controlling commands received and distributed; display andcontrol circuit mainly completes the device’s control, data interface and drive program,keyboard interaction, and an external instrument communication and other tasks.The digital IF hardware circuit is implemented with software radio hardwareplatform, the thesis adopts the hardware structure of the ADC+FPGA+DSP. The gainand bandwidth of IF signal from the RF output is adjusted. The IF signal quantified toobtain the digital IF sequence. The spectral data from the IF logic module output aretransmitted to the spectrometer display and control circuits. The design of thedisplay-control circuits is based on embedded system, the thesis completes the design ofthe spectrum command/data transfer interface and driver program, the design of thespectrum analyzer display unit and boot LOGO display, the design of the spectrumanalyzer standard keyboard, and the design of the instrument interface.Finally, the thesis gives the experiments results. The design is debugged and verifiedby testing the whole system, and achieves the desired objectives.
