White muscardine pupa was silkworm pupa ,Boinbyx mori (L) .being infected by Beauveria bassiana . Experiments were done around strains and pupae, which were wished to find out some relative factor with content of active component of white muscardine pupa for anticonvulsion. The results were as follows:Fatty acid composition of pupal body wall was measured through gas chromatography . The relative content of eight alkene acid (%) was lower in body wall of Japanese silkworm pupa than in body wall of Chinese silkworm pupa . This lead to add oppourtunity being infected by Beauveria bassiana for Japanese silkworm pupa because germination of spore would be restricted in eight alkene acid liquid.Changes of pupal haemolymph protein and pH of inoculated pupa and healthy pupa were quantitativly analysised. Concentration of haemolymph protein of treatment was obviously higher than control within 48 hour ,similar at 48th hour ,lower steeply from 72th hour. It' s probable that some action was effected in pupal body for resisting infection .Haemolymph pH of healthy silkworm pupa was relativly stable because its buffer action was strong . Rang of Haemolymph pH of treatment was from 5.5 to 7.0 . Changes degree of Haemolymph pH of Japanese silkworm pupa was bigger than Chinese silkworm pupa . Changes degree of Haemolymph pH of pupa infected by higher virulence strains was bigger than pupa infected by lower virulence .Generaly Beauveria bassiana strains from the original hosts or butterfly and moth was stronger for its pathogenicity to silkworm pupa ,which was indicated that LT50 was lose . LT50 of Chinese silkworm pupa inoculated by same strain was longer than Japanese silkworm pupa, this showed that its resistence to white muscardine was weaker .Morphological (hyphae ,conidiogenous structure and colony) ,biological (conidium production ,strains growth rate) and biochemical (production of calcium oxalate crystals ,soluble mycelial protein) characters were different among different Beauveria bassiana strains . there was not obvious relationship between virulence of strains andclassification result through morphological characteristic and myceiial protein profiles . Production of calcium oxalate crystals and conidium production were obviously correlated with the virulence of Beauveria bassiana to the silkworm pupa and the content of active component of white muscardine pupa for anticonvulsion in the white muscardine pupa .Content of (NH4) 2C2O4 in the white muscardine pupa ,Chinese silkworm pupa infected by same strains ,was higher than Japanes silkworm pupa . there was higher content of (NH4) 2C2O4 in the white muscardine pupa ,the same silkworm pupa infected by higher virulence strain than by lower virulence strain . It were similial between white muscardine pupa and white muscardine larvae . Though there were difference in content of active component of white muscardine pupa for anticonvulsion between same strain to living pupa and to dead pupa ,It were not obviously different very much .
