Kelp Gametophyte Clone Nursery And Cultivation Of Hybrid Seed

China is one of the major countries which produce marine algae in the world. Among all marine algae, kelp is the major cultivating species. In early 60s, the technology of artificial seed-rearing was first used in our country. The research work on kelp breeding was begun in early 60s, since then many new varieties of kelp have appeared.The technology of artificial seed-rearing hasn't been improved for 40 years, the traditional way of kelp breeding should be improved too.In this study, gametophytes of kelp were used in seed-rearing and breeding in a cool cultivating room, it's the first record of success in using gametophytes in seed-rearing and breeding on a large scale. The results showed as follows:1. The female gametophytes and male gametophytes should be cultivated on short light-period after they were mixed and separated.2. Gametophytes should be separated again after being cultivated in the short light-period . They can be used in seed-rearing after they have passed through 500-hole filter.3. The proper weight ratio for female gametophytes and male gametophytes is 2:1.4. The proper weight of female gametophytes for each lian is 3 gram.5. Spraying gametophytes indirectly has better effect than the others.6. It's the best period to flush sporophytes when they reach 8-16 lie.7. Comparing with control, it takes about only half of the time to rear the 16 Combination.8. The 16 Combination is observed to possess several desirable characters. Its width , thickness and weight are superior to its parents.9. The 16 Combination's length, width and weight are superior to control.10. The 16 Combination sporophytes have a little mutation by statistics examination.
