In order to make the pace of agricultural irrigating automation and improve the using rate of water resouce, this paper put forward a disign method of intelligent irrigating systems, which can monitor the equipments and allocate water resource.This reasearch topic is from the real project -the irrigating system reconstruction of Jingtai area in Gansu province. This paper introduces the present situation of main irrigated area in our country and summarizes their faults in automation. Finally, total design schemes of intelligent irrigating systems is set forth. In the part of intelligent controller, first the hardware structure of the intelligent controller is explained and their capability parameters are analysed. In the process of their programming, the research on both loading files and on-line upgrading is done. Some measures to improve the capability of resisting disturbance are also given. In the part of monitoring system, some software modules are introduced and communication module and data management module are especially emphasized. Some Visual Basic programming skills are also given. At last, some concepts are given to continue developing such, systems.
