The development of current loquat industry and its problem in Taizhou district were investigated in this thesis. Effects of bagging on the preharvest and postharvest quality of loquat fruit as well as its corresponding economy benefit were studied. In conclusion, bagging provides a simple and effective way to improve fruit quality of Taizhou loquat and its marketing.The main results of this thesis can be divided into five parts.1. The distribution and current situation of main loquat produce sections in the whole country were investigated. The existing problems as well as some solutions for the development of domestic loquat industry were analyzed.2. Current situation of Taizhou loquat produce section were studied. Possible solutions were proposed to solve some existing problems in the Taizhou loquat industry, among which the fruit quality is of the most important.3. Bagging is a simple and effective technique to improve loquat quality, which may bring signficant economic benefit and development space for Taizhou loquat industry.4. Effects of bagging on loquat fruit appearance, postharvest characteristics and quality were studied. One on hand, bagging improved the appearance quality of loquat fruit substantially. The bagged fruit were beautiful: the tiny hairs on the fruit were compact and the color of fruit was fresh, even and smooth and the frequency of fruit rust-speck, split, diseases and pest occurrence were decreased. The ratio of commercial fruit was raised, especially with the use of the bags for peach bagging. On the other hand, bagging has significant effect on the postharvest characteristics and quality of loquat fruit. Under normal storage temperature (20℃), the fruit firmness increased continuously, the total soluble solid and organic acid decreased distinctly, the ethylene production was a non-climacteric type and the related flavor qualities descended as...
