Domestic Potassium Chloride On The Crop Yield Effect, Application Of Technology And Promotion Of Applied Research

This research was aimed at the problems in agricultural nutrition management, implernented a systematic study on China made potassium chloride (KCl) application on crops yield, quality, resistance to badness condition, and suitable application rate, and application technique through field trials, lab analysis, demonstration and extension. The main results were summarized as follows: 188 contrast field trials for 21 crops were carried out in Hubei province and 78.7percent trials showed KCl had significant effect on crops yield, which increment was from 1.2 percent to 45.1 percent and the average was 17.4 percent. The results showed that China made potassium chloride had important role on crops products quality improvement. For example, KCl improved early rice starch content by 10.49 percent, sugar content by 0.22 percent, and protein content by 0.81percent, respectively. Wheat total amino acid relatively raised by 4.5 percent, protein by 3.3 percent, solubility sugar by 11.1 percent, starch by 3.6 percent, respectively. Oil plants such as rapeseed and peanut oil content significantly improved by KCl applied. Fibre length of ramie and cotton with KCl application were increased by 10.9 cm and 0.09 cm compared with CK treatment. China made KCl improved cabbage, cauliflower, radish, cucumber, pepper and tomato Vc content by 12.7, 12.3, 2.4, 33.4, and 5.9 mg/kg, the increment were 27.4, 9.0, 15.9, 22.8, 47.3, and 35.5 percent, respectively. China made KCl had positive effect on crops' resistance to badness condition such as disease and chilly. With KCl application, Rice Sheath blight, Rice blast, Sclerotiniosis, and Brown leaf spot were decreased by 32.5, 45.0, 13.0 and 79.5 percent, respectively. Rapeseed filed trial result showed that plant freezing index was decreased with K rates increased. The results from several years, different location and crops contrast between China made KCl and import KCl experiments indicated that both KCl had the same effect on crops yield at same applied rate. However, at same input, the increment of China made KCl had higher output than that of import KCl due to lower price of China made KCl. On currently situation, the suitable recommendation K2O application rates for different crops were: early rice 4-6kg/ ma, middle rice 8.2-10.3kg/ mu, late rice 7-10kg/ mu, wheat 4-6kg/ mu, corn 9.7-12.2kg/ mu. cotton 13.8-17.3kg/mu, rapeseed 8-10kg/mu, peanut 9.0-11.3kg/ mu, citrus 19.4-24.2kg/mu, cabbage 5.9-7.4kg/ mu, cucumber 8.7-10.9kg/ mu, tomato 11.4-14.2kg/ mu, respectively. Lon-term field experiments discovered that in different crop rotation China made KCl had no negative effect on soil. Based on field trials, demonstration and extension, potassium chloridemade in China application technology for main crops in Hubei was established. The technology included according to soil condition, crops type, different nutrients combination, nutrients balance, suitable application time, rates and methods. The research also put forward a new mode for fertilizer extension in market economy situation in China.
