| Soil erosion is one of the important research subjects of Remote Sensing (RS) and GIS application, and it provides abundant information data and processing means for soil erosion, and makes the work of soil and water conservation to a higher level. Soil Erosion Model (SEM) is the effective tool of predicting soil erosion, monitoring the configuration measure of the soil and water conservation, optimizing water and soil resource utilization. SEM is the focus of the water and soil conservation research. With the sustentation fund of the Mangshan valley monitoring and estimating sub-program of Yellow River soil and water conservation ecology program, this paper starts with the science system of the water and soil conservation, takes example for Mangshan valley, and discusses the application of RS and GIS technology in the water and soil conservation.First of all, the paper adopts rational function model to correct the IKNONOS images of Mangshan valley, realizes the general process before image application, demonstrates the understandable sign suiting the drainage region geographical environment, adopts the method of man-machine interaction and visual interpretation to get the current state diagram of the soil utilization, and adopts the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index to distill the vegetation fraction in the valley. Then, the paper demonstrates the progress of the research of soil erosion model, makes use of Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) to deeply analyze the rainfall erosibility factor, the soil erodibility factor, vegetation coverage factor, the factor of length and gradient of slope, the water and soil conservation measure factor, and extracts the value of these factors based on the DEM grids, realizes the evaluation of soil erosion measurement, and provides the prevention and cure measure correspondingly. At last, with the help of software engineering technology and adopting the object-oriented model method, the paper constructs the prototype of the water and soil conservation application system based on RS and GIS to evaluate the soil erosion measurement. |
