Ldesia palycarpa Maxim(Flacourtiaceae) is a fine woody oil plant. In order to make further utilization of L.palycarpa,it is significant to do some research on fatty acid extraction, composition analysis and bio-diesel conversion.L.palycarpa was used for the research.Different ways of Ldesia fatty acid extraction were compared and its chemical components from different areas were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).Bio-diesel was obtained by transesterification under normal conditions. The main results were as follows:1.Comparison three extraction methods of oil(dipping extraction, soxhlet extraction, and ultrasonic extraction) by single factor and orthogonal test on xanthoceras sorbifolia kernel oil: Dipping extraction at room temperature dipping 2 d,the materials to solvent ratio 1:10,extraction attained 34.44%;Soxhlet extraction extract 10 h at 65℃,the materials to solvent ratio 1:16, extraction reached 45.95%;Ultrasonic extraction extract 30 minutes at 60℃,the materials to solvent ratio 1:9,extraction reached 42.21%.Results showed ultrasonic extraction methods had a lower solvent consumption, shorter time, the higher extraction yield and lower cost, this method provided scientific reference for preparation of xanthoceras sorbifolia kernel oil.2.The total fruits fatty acid content have significant differences in different areas, with the highest content of linoleic acid and the minimum content of myristic acid.Analyzed by GC-MS,the main ingredients of Ldesia contain:myristic acid, palmitoleic acid, palmitic acid, linoleic acid, oleic acid and stearic acid.GC-MS analysis of different parts of fruits showed that:linoleic acid in seed is much more than pulp, but myristic acid only exist in pulp, and other ingredients exist both in pulp and seed.It had 70%unsaturated fatty acids, the main components were linoleic acid and palmitic acid which were suitable to be alternative fuel materials.3.Optimization of biodiesel preparation with KOH as a base-catalyst.Four principal variables, molar ratio of methanol to oil, amount of catalyst, reaction temperature and reaction time, affecting the yield of alkali-catalyzed production of biodiesel were investigated.Conditions for mechanical agitation transesterifleation:temperature 60℃,the molar ration of methanol to oil 8:1,0.8%wt catalyst, reaction time 40min,the conversion rate was about 99.85%.This research provide significantly theoretical and practical references to resolve Chinese energy shortage problems. It offers scientific basis and technical parameters for the preparation of biodiesel from Ldesia palycarpa Maxim kernel oil in large seale produetion.
