| This study consist of 2 experiments for determining the impact of maize naturally contaminated with mycotoxins on performance and meat quality of growing-finishing pigs.In Exp.1,18 crossbred(Duroc×Large White×Landrace) with a mean weight(43.41±5.20) kg growing pis were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group given the basic diet with normal maize;25%mycotoxin group given the diet in which normal maize was 25%replaced by mycotoxin-contaminated maize; 50%mycotoxin group(50%replaced by mycotoxin-contaminated maize).Exp.2 28 crossbred(Duroc×Large White×Landrace) with a mean weight(55.61±3.89) kg growing pigs were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group given the basic diet with normal maize;25%mycotoxin group given the diet in which normal maize was 25%replaced by mycotoxin-contaminated maize;50%mycotoxin group(50% replaced by mycotoxin-contaminated maize),and 100%mycotoxin group(100% replaced by mycotoxin-contaminated maize),All pigs were provided with water and feed ad libitum. When body weight of pigs were up to 100-110kg,pigs were bleeded to slaughter, and calculate dressing percent.Liver, kidney, spleen and meat samples collected from left longissimus were prepared to measure organ index, drip loss, meat color and pH-value at 45min and 24h after slaughter.Average daily gain(ADG), average daily feed intake(ADFI),feed to gain ratio(F/G) of pigs, and feeding time in the 3 phases including form 0 to 14d,15d to the slaughter day,and overall phase were measured. The results showed that there were no significant differences for ADG, feeding time, meat quality indexes, and dressing percent among groups in two experiments(P>0.05).However,in trial 1,the F/G of 25%mycotoxin group tended to reduce without significant differences in 15d-slaughter phase and over phase respectively compared with the control group(P>0.05).50%mycotoxin group significantly reduce F/G in the same periods compared with the control group (P<0.05).In trial 2,when compared with control group,100%mycotoxin group ADFI reduced significantly(P<0.05),F/G tend to reduce(P>0.05) in the first 14-days,and the performances of pigs tend to reduced in 15d-slaughter and overall phase. In concluding, the 6 kinds of mycotoins in the normal or contaminated maize were both check out.Deoxnivalenol was 4300μg/kg in the contaminated maize, and fumonisin was 6230μg/kg in the control maize.,The diets replaced with contaminated maize tended to elevate the heart index and reduce F/G of growing-finishing pigs. However,in 100%mycotoxin group ADFI was reduced, the whole performances were drop, and the feeding time was longer. The diet naturally contaminated with mycotoxins had no significant influences on dressing percent and meat quality. |
