The Research Of Erectile Dysfunction In Different Tcm Pattens Associated With Constitution

Objective:To research the distribution characteristics of different Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) constitutions for the patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) using questionnaire and epidemiological methods;To explore the relationship between ED and TCM constitution;To provide scientific evidence for the prevention and treatment of this disease from the view of TCM.Methods:230 ED cases with informed consent were surveied using questionnaire method.Then the clinical data was standardized and TCM pattens and constitutions were judged.EXCEL2003 database was established for the data. The characteristics of TCM constitutions were analysized with SPSS 13.0.Results:The study collected 230 patients,excluding cases of failure and 10 cases, effective table 220.Single constitution accounted the major part(70.45%).during the 220 patients,composite constitution was the minor part (29.55%).The sequence of the 9 constitutions were as following:Qi depression,damp-heat,Qi deficiency,Qi deficiency with damp-heat, damp-heat with Qi defeciency,yang deficiency,phlem and dampness,mild constitution, yin deficiency.That the former 4 constitutions accounted more than a half(60.45%)indecated that Qi depression,damp-heat,Qi deficiency,Qi deficiency with damp-heat and damp-heat with Qi depression were susceptibility to erectile dysfunction.There was statistic difference in the age,educational level, duration,severity,TCM patten and constitution distribution(P<0.05).There was statistic difference in between the TCM patten and constitutions such as liver qi stagnation and qi depression(P<0.01),phlegm and dampness(P<0.05),damp-heat (P<0.01),damp-heat with Qi depression(P<0.05).Both splenn and heart deficiency was correlated with Qi deficiency(P<0.01). Vital yang deficiency was correlated with the yang deficiency(P<0.01).Conclusion:Erectile dysfunction was correlated with TCM constitution,Qi depression,damp-heat,Qi deficiency,damp-heat with Qi defeciency were the common constitution.Different constitutions for the ED patients were correlated with age, education level and course.There were certain differences in the severity of erectile dysfunction in patients.The TCM pattens were correlated with constitutions.Liver qi stagnation was correlated with Qi depression,phlegm and dampness,damp-heat, damp-heat with qi depression.Both spleen and heart deficiency was correlated with qi defeciency.Vital yang deficiency was correlated with yang deficiency.From the view of correlation the research indecated that treating ED with chinese medicine through strengthening healthy qi and regularing correlation could achieve the purpose of treating root.
