The Development And Evolution Of Dao Qing From Pleasing Soul To Pleasing People

The religious artistic form of Taoism which has its unique connotation and value is formed in the development of the Taoism. At present, it is more than 20 provinces and cities throughout China and shows the difference between folk customs, language and music of more than half of chinese folk by its rich and varied forms. It is one of the excellent kinds of our national art.As there is a long history of religious culture in the Northern Shanxi area, Daoqing is impacted by these cultures in its inflow and spread and forms Jinbei Daoqing (Jinbei just means the northern Part of Shanxi Province because the shortened form of Shanxi is Jin and Chinese character"Bei"means north)of the local characteristics. At the early stage, Jinbei Daoqing was covered with a heavy religious shell and was esteemed to be"the drama of the Gods", so it contains full-bodied religious coloring. With the development of urban and rural folk religion and folk ceremony, Jinbei Daoqing breaks the fetters of Taoism and forms an unique folk art form which contains all parts of our society, but we can easily find out the traces of their religious culture from the accompaniment of musical instruments and a number of set lists. This is not only basis to research the development of the religious culture of the Northern Shanxi Taoism, but also a witness to study psychological evolution of Northern Shanxi's people.However, Jinbei Daoqing existing in Northern Shanxi for a long time has countless ties with Taoism and its own brilliant rural characteristics, the study of its folk-traditions,religious importance,and the exploration of the culture value has never been done. By the means of the cultural study of the drama types,this dissertation will deal with Jinbei Daoqing under the background of the local culture. The goal of this dissertation is to give an in-depth,delicate and comprehensive study and to further understand the cultural significance and value of Daoqing and its culture,Taoism and its culture,Jinbei Daoqing and its culture,Jinbei culture. If a Little contribution is made to the study of the drama types and the study of its culture in Shanxi Province,the author will be greatly satisfied.
