Fork children game is a very important part of traditional culture, which is an importantway for children to learn, to exercise their body, to have fun and to improve their own quality,which plays a very important role in children’s development. This thesis from the perspectiveof cultural anthropology, applying the methods of field investigation and literature byobservation, interview, collecting written materials, etc to analyze the distribution, the types,the features and the current conditions of the fork children’s game of Shi Jia village in QingShui County of Gansu province. There are totally50kinds of folk Children’s games arecollected and organized. Besides, there are detailed description, records and some schema ofvarious popular children games of the village in the thesis. Based on the above mentionstudied, the author then makes systematical categorization and deep demonstration.The analysis and demonstration of the thesis carries on from the cultural ecologyenvironment, cultural psychology, cultural structure and protection and transmission. Thefollowing conclusions are drawn: there are rich original ecology folk children games in ShiJia village of depths of the Guan Long Mountains and other neighboring villages. The featuresand the structures of the games are intergraded with the culture geography and grouppsychology of the area, which contains rich and profound culture and education value. Thetransmission of the games is meaningful for the preservation of cultural icon, for thedevelopment of children’s mind and for the perfection of mass personality. Therefore, at thepresent atmosphere of carrying forward the traditional culture, the protection and transmissionof the folk children’s games should be a priority for all.Besides the introduction and conclusion parts, the thesis can be divided into fourchapters. The first chapter analyzes the interplaying and harmonizing between fork childrengames and cultural ecology. The second chapter analyzes the cultural icon meaning of folkchildren games and the texts meaning. The third chapter analyzes the important function offolk children games on adjusting the psychology of individual and mass. The fourth chapteranalyzes the use and development of the fork children games in both the modern andtraditional contexts.
