Clinical Application Of Binomial Forced-choice Digit Memory Test In The Judicatory Authenticate With Mental Retardation

Objective:To explore possibility of the scores of binomial forced-choice digit memory test reflecting the true degree of wechsler adult intelligence scale(WAIS-RC) in the patients with mental retardation. Methods:53 subjects with mental retardation were measured by binomial forced-choice digit memory test and wechsler adult intelligence scale.Also two authenticator assessed the camouflage and intelligence of patients with mental retardation according to history,clinical experience and chinese classification and diagnostic criteria of mental disorder-3.It carried on a comparison to the camouflage in BFDMT judgment and whether there were camouflages or not in clinical authenticate. The correlation between the scores of camouflage in BFDMT and the test result in WAIS-RC. Consults:Among the 53 subjects with mental retardation,19(35.8%)subjects were judged to be camouflages by authenticator, while 27(50.9%) by BFDMT. There was no significant difference between clinical authenticate and whether there were camouflages or not in BFDMT. According to the intelligence quotient, mental retardation was rated norma,edge appearance,light degree and medium degree. In different rating of intelligence quotient, no significant difference was found in clinical authenticate(p>0.05). But significant difference was found in BFDMT judgement, especially in medium degree mental retardation(p<0.01).The intelligence quotient,the speech intelligence quotient and the operation intelligence quotient in the camouflage group was markedly lower than non-camouflage group in BFDMT. There was significant difference between the two groups.In BFDMT test consult, the total scores,items in difficulty and items in easiness were correlated with the scores of intelligence quotient,speech intelligence quotient and operation intelligence quotient positively. Conclusion:It is similar between clinical authenticate and whether there were camouflages or not in BFDMT.To some extent, The level of scores in BFDMT can reflect the true degree of the WAIS-RC test result.
