With the development of international communication and special education. The mentalretardation students must be integrated into the main stream in society due to their need in andinclusive education. With the continuous development of special education and the new basiceducation course reform, the deaf students have the opportunity to grasp piano .This paper focus on the piano is carried out in the special education school teaching .Piano teaching is on the basis of special characteristics of students. The mental retardationstudents is different from normal children and their teaching aims can not be the same.Using piano teaching can improve their intelligence .Piano teaching not only influence the intelligence factor, but also enrich our spirit world,foster better character of volition ,buildup confidence ,etc. That is to say, piano educationcan influence effectively our psychology__ non-intelligent factor .The writer haveresearched the piano teaching of the mental retardation in accordance with theirpsychological, physiological features, also piano teaching experience and theircharacters . The mental retardation is different from the normal children inperceive ,sensibility , volition . So there is different teaching method in study character anddevelopment feature. The piano teaching of the mental retardation has a whole uniqueteaching method in piano choice , comprehension ,study and play . The practice provespiano teaching can improve the mental retardation in their perceive sensibility ,volition, hasimportant meaning and helps them be integrated into the main stream in society, alsorealize their value and improve their quality of living .
