Ca's Supplier Selection And Supplier Audit Under Global Sourcing Environment

As the China economy grows rapidly, more and more multinational companies have moved their production lines or set up global sourcing centers in China. China is becoming a"Global Factory"and"Global Supplier". Under the global sourcing environment, how to select supplier and audit supplier properly has great significance on the multinational companies'supply chain management and operation management.CA is a US based air conditioning manufacturing enterprise. CA set up global sourcing center in Shanghai in 2002 to manage the air conditioning component and finished goods global souring business. This case study shows CA's global sourcing roadmap, supplier selection and supplier audit. Under the theory of supplier development and management, combining the theory of strategic sourcing and global sourcing, the article discusses multinational company how to select supplier and set up standard sourcing procedure, how to evaluate, audit, develop and manage suppliers, to achieve the long-term cooperate relationship between enterprise and its suppliers.The article stems from the author's real working experience.
