Guyuan County Land Use Pattern Changes And Optimization Study

Guyuan County of Zhangjiakou city, is located in Hebei province and it is on the mid zone of the north farming pastoral ecotone. Because of the special location, the county have a significant influence in the ecological security of Beijing—Tianjin area. Under the influence of human beings and climate change, the landscape pattern of the farming-pastoral zone in northern China changed intensively. Although many policies were carried out here, it is still fragile in environment. To analysis the reasons resulting in the change of landscape pattern and provide the strategy optimizing the land use types, we studies the characteristic of change of landscape pattern in middle-scaling. Basing on the RS and GIS technology, maps of land use types was obtained representing years of 1988,1998 and 2007 separately. Fractal dimension and stability index were calculated to analysis the change of landscape patterns quantitatively. Factors such as elevation, slope, aspect, soil texture and land use type are selected to carry out landscape pattern suitability evaluation of this country. Based on the result of the assessment, the study region is divided into three distribution area, then each area is subdivided into three suitability grades, number 1 region is the most suitable land use type. Number 2 is relatively suitable and number 3 is basically suitable region. The divided area can provide helpful reference for the county's sustainable development and protect the ecological security of Beijing—Tianjin area.The paper is composed of six chapters. Chapter one is the preface, the main content are the domestic and foreign research of landscape, LUCC and optimization of land use pattern as well as the paper's research purpose and study content. The second chapter summarized the general situation of the physical geography,the population and the social economy. The third chapter specific described the research method and the data processing. The fourth chapter give a systemic and comprehensive analysis of the spatial and temporal change of land use and the variation of landscape pattern. The fifth chapter mainly use the permanent natural factor as the basic evaluation factors, make a evaluation of the suitability of land use distribution, moreover defined the area of the district. The six chapter is the mainly conclusion and discussion, it also point out the shortcomings of the study.
