The task of The Sandstorm Source Control Project in and Around Beijing and Tianjin is improving entironment condition of the region in and Around Being and Tianjin,alleviating disaster of sand blown by wind,driving the development of region economy.This is a long and complex environment restoring project.Because Guyuan County in He Bei province is one of the most important County in the project, and its special location and environment,it is necessary to monitor and evaluate implementing impact of the project in Guyuan County.Using the techniques of RS,GIS and landscape ecology,based on Landsat TM data,integrating with land use change model,landscape pattern analysis software Fragstats3.3 and logistic regression analysis, the dynamic changes of land use,landscape pattern and the driving factors in Guyuan County were studied.The main results show that the structure of the land use has been greatly changed with implementing Sandstorm Source Control Project in and Around Beijing and Tianjin.firstly,The most quickly changed land type are forest land,unused land and farmland.The rapid increase of forestland derived mainly from farmland and unused land.Following the theory of landscape ecology analysis,landscape indices show that The heterogeneity of landscape in Guyuan County is increased,the diversity of landscape in Guyuan County is descending,the distribution of class patches tended to even.The most important driving factors of land use spatial pattern in in Guyuan County are slope and distance to village road, and the driving factors of single land use type changed notably.
