Guyuan County Land Use / Land Cover Changes Of Landscape Pattern

Farming-pastoral zone is a very fragile eco-environment area, Bashang farming-pastoral zone is the dust storm source of Beijing and Tianjin , the quality of its ecological environment, is directly related to national security. landuse/landcover is the most prominent landscape symbol of the Earth, and it directly impacts on the changes of the environment. Land-use/land cover changes research in recent years is an important aspect of global change research. Remote sensing and geographic information systems provide the information source and information technology for the research of landuse/landcover.Guyuan County is located in the farming-pastoral zone in Hebei. Researching on the the process, the characteristics and the driving forces of landuse/landcover change have great theoretical value and practical guiding significance to the ecological environment construction of farming-pastoral zone. In this paper,three stages Landsat TM imges, 1988, 1998 and 2008 are chosed for the recearch of landuse/landcover in Guyuan country. Through the supervised classification and later manual methods, the different stages landuse data of Guyuan County is obtained. Based on the related theory of landuse/landcover, combined with theory of landscape ecology, used the RS and GIS technique, the spatial-temporal change of landuse/landcover in Guyuan County is studied.at the same time, with the information and socio-economic statistical data, natural and man-made driven factors are researched, as well as the eco-environmental impact. The results show that:(1) The farmland area is increase during the ten years from 1988 to 1998, increased farmland mainly comes from the grass land and other unused land, and from 1998 to 2008 there is a downward trend, it mainly transforms into construction land and forest land. Grass land has been in a decline in status at the 20 years, mainly transforms into farmland, construction land and other unused land. Forest land area and the construction area are in the increase status. saline land and other types of unused land transforms actively. From the perspective of landscape ecology, landscape is influenced by human interference, fragmentation is increasing.(2) From the aspect of landuse/landcover change driving force, the most important driving forces are man-made driven factors, especially the policy of socio-economic development factors, which have a fundamental influence. (3) From the aspect of environmental effects of landuse/landcover change, the changes of landuse/landcover pattern directly impact on the region's vegetation cover, soil salinization and hydrological changes.
