Abstract:The popularity of internet and mobile internet leads to the development of digital music. Digital music has become a major income source of value-added service income to telecom carriers. It is also the significant income source of music content providers. Digital music comprises online music and wireless music. The market scale of wireless music is more than the Online's in China. The paper applies theory of value innovation to study the sales and distribution about mobile music. It gets some useful conclusions to telecom carriers. The main part is organized as follows. The value-added service of wireless music to carriers and its significance are introduced in Section 1. Section 2 is the focus of this article. This part analyzes the wireless music industry's business model challenges and problems respectively from the wireless music industry chain in the wireless music market, record companies, music, consumer groups, SP, carriers, etc. The new business model for wireless music is given in Section 3. Prospects are finally drawn in Section 4. We think that the digital music sales distribution model is juvenility. But with the continuous development of new technologies, telecom carriers lead to integrate the wireless music industry chain, make consumers to accept wireless music sales model, attract more content providers to join them, and eventually contribute to a good order of the music market.
