| Have entered the twenty first century, the economics globalization progress is accelerated; competition of the market has been tending to globalization as well. As such, to maintain or expand market share, the enterprise must go to market in a more flexible and efficient way. With the more enterprises running business basing on project model, Project Management is becoming the major part of business management. Project Management is to apply various knowledge, skill, tool and technology in the activities of a project progress, to integrate human resource, material, financing, information and high-tech, marketing resources etc in order to achieve the target of the management team.With the division of work has been more detailed and flat organization has been structured in more enterprises, the projects involving cross department coordination is increased. It's realized that the cross department coordination is very important in the business management area, which plays a very important role in the enterprise's core competency enhancement progress. More important is, the cross department coordination can integrate the resources and let multiple department synchronize the space and release the bottleneck in the project lifecycle, it give up the traditional teamwork way which multiple department would have complete their tasks in an specific order, which tremendously saving the lead time and make the management more effective. The research on cross department coordination in project management is very significant in both theory and reality, however, there is also big challenge and various issues.This paper is introducing the related theory of cross department coordination in project management, and case study on the CDMA Trial Program done by Alcatel-Lucent (China) Ltd for Shanghai Telecom Corporation. It's in depth introducing the project team build up process, team-member incentive program and team communications skills. Based on the past experience, it also provided a in depth research on the specific issues incurred in the cross department coordination and suggested the remedy actions. This paper also described how to build up a framework to meet the specific requirement of a project manager, to help the real project team in exercise basing on the case analysis, in order to provide some hint to the future project management activities. |
