Despite the rapid development in e-business, e-commerce logistics is still a target of complaints. As complained by many companies within this area, logistics has become the bottleneck which limits the progress in e-commerce. A large group of companies have established their own warehouses and distribution channels to accomplish all the logistics tasks outsourced from the e-commerce companies. Facing the difficulties, numerous companies realized that an efficient and low-cost distribution channel should be put on the top of the schedule and that is also the focus of this essay. The object of study is an e-commerce logistics company. Based on my daily observations, problems were discovered during the internship. The company's operating data statistics and the inside look of management also helped the analysis of the issues on network construction. Our aim is to improve the localization of warehouse centers and to optimize the transportation route. As a result, the company would cut operating costs while the ability of distribution is guaranteed. The whole essay is composed of six parts, the fist one is about the current situation of SPL, the role played by distribution in economic development and problems faced by company Z. Following that, the theories related to them will be introduced. It is mainly about warehouse site selection model and transportation scale optimization. According to the logistics process and historical order data, we analyzed the major problem of the company Z—underload wagons and high operating cost. After the analysis, we conclude that the major reason is the unreasonable warehouse site selection and transportation scale choice. As to these problems, we have to relocate the warehouses and analyze the result to ensure that it is practical. After the selection, we would, based on the analysis of the orders collected from several branches in one year, foresee demand and reconsider distribution scale, route and the loading process before setting off. Referring to the problems mentioned above, the fifth chapter would put forward the scheme to solve it, following by the indemnified measures which ensure its efficiency. In the last chapter, we will positively bring about the prospect of e-commerce logistics pattern.
