China's export of mechanical and electrical products to US is constrained by demand of the US market. On the one hand, American enterprises have a strong dependence of mechanical and electrical products from China, which makes the export ascending. On the other hand, with increase of U.S. trade deficit in mechanical and electrical products, the U.S. government frequently conducts impose all kinds of trade barriers to curb its import from China. Therefore, the change of demand of the US market for electromechanical products from China shows a kind of the comprehensive effects formed by the interaction of dependent effects and inhibiting effects. How to reduce the latter one and increase the former one and enhance the benefit of export is urgently needed to solve.Rested on international trade theories centered on demand, the thesis conducts a research on the compressive effects of US market on China electromechanical exports; from the theoretical and empirical ways, and analyzes factors both dependent demand and suppressed demand in U.S. market; and puts forward proposals subsequently. The results show that dependent demand factors are the U.S. gross domestic product, the Renminbi's real effective exchange rate against the U.S. dollar, the U.S. consumer price index and the U.S. import price index for machinery and electronic products. The greatest impact on the mechanical and electrical export trade is the U.S. gross domestic product; and the consumer price index neglected by others is important, the coefficient of which is 2.663; by Granger causality analysis, the real effective exchange rate is not a cause to U.S. import growth from China in mechanical and electrical products, Which can obviously crush the argument in the United States that China is a country who manipulates the rate of exchange. Suppressed factors mainly contain technical barriers, Section 337, and anti-dumping investigations. After 1999, technical barriers are most powerful, which is consistent with mechanical and electrical products with low technology. In recent years, Section 337 and anti-dumping investigation are employed frequently by the US government, which brings about more suppress to China export of electromechanical products. Therefore, for healthy development of export to US, the enterprises should pay attention to improvement of technology, non-price competition, development of our own brands, and fully utilization of WTO rules against trade barriers.
