A Study On Technical Barriers To Trade Of China's Electrical & Mechanical Industry

The trading of mechanical and electrical products is the leading industry of international trade, and also a key sign to measure a country's ability to participate in the international division of labor and trade competitiveness, also it is one of the largest industries among international markets, developed countries and some developing countries regard expansion of the electrical and mechanical exports as an important strategic objective of domestic economic development.With the rapid development of the electrical and mechanical trade, China's export of electromechanical products encountered more and more technical trade barriers that the developed countries set upon to which resulted in significant losses of China's export of electromechanical products.In order to promote China's export of electromechanical products and enhance international competitiveness of the export of electromechanical products, according to the current situation, there is an urgent need for analysis of contemporary international trade in the implementation of TBT and its development status and its characteristics, analyze the reasons for the encounter of TBT, and proposed specific measures to deal with TBT.This paper makes a systematical and meticulous study on the TBT's impacts on mechanical and electrical industries from the following aspects:Firstly, it is the basic theory of TBT and review of the basic concepts, features and manifestations, the reasons and background and analysis of the economic effect.Secondly, according to the situation China's electromechanical products and the performance of TBT impact on the products, then make the analysis of TBT impact on China's electromechanical products.Once again, according to the present impact situation of mechanical and electrical products, then make an analysis for its reasons, combined with REACH regulations which issued by the European Union recently and characteristics of the China's electronic and electrical industry, then make an empirical analysis of TBT's impact on electrical and electronic products.Finally, put forward the trade proposals and suggestions for combating the TBT for our government, trade associations and enterprises to promote healthy development of China's electromechanical industry.
