With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the markets for port and waterway construction as well as the sea front industrial base development are booming. The dredging industry has achieved high speed of development and the investment for dredger building has become bigger and bigger. The importance regarding the management of dredger(s) has gradually enhanced for the dredging enterprises. Based on the investigation and analysis, it is known that Chinese dredging enterprises have made huge progress over the past years in terms of dredger(s) building and the level of automatic operation control system on board. However, neither the company level nor the middle level between enterprises and dredger(s) has less research achievement on informatization. It is obvious that the large gap existed between the actual situation of production statistics and the current requirement for the management of the dredger(s) by the dredging enterprises. Therefore, the study on optimizing the dredger production statistics system of dredging enterprises is really vital.This paper attempts to make analysis on the optimization of the dredger production statistics system with that of CCCC-SDC as an example. The main contents are as follows:First, it analyzes through the investigation the importance of the trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) and the cutter suction dredger (CSD) to the dredging enterprises as well as the current situation with regard to shortage of dredger(s) production statistics system of the dredging companies in domestic market. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be learned that the study on optimizing the dredger production statistics system of dredging companies is positive and valuable for the improvement of the management on dredger(s) and that of the management level of dredging enterprises. Second, it analyzes the structure, current situation and demands of the management on dredger production statistics of CCCC-SDC.Third, in accordance with the consideration of the analysis on the achievement and developing trend of dredger(s) and automatic operation control system as well as on the structure of informatization of other manufactory enterprises, it can be learned that dredger production statistics system of dredging enterprises can be considered as the bridge between the dredger and the enterprise for the automation information system when concerning the information system of the enterprises as a whole.Fourth, in terms of the study on the technical data and experience, it can be determined regarding the main items for design of the system such as acquisition range, acquisition standard, method for processing and output of the system data.Fifth, through the investigation of the application effect and the real result analysis on the actual sample in terms of systematic optimization, it is resulted that the whole system has already achieved the goal of optimization.At last, the paper describes the perspective of the further study on the system.
