Current Status And Countermeasures Of Agro-processing Industry In Xiamen

While China continues to move forward the process of industrialization, agro-processing industry has also become one of the fastest growing industries in recent years. Agro-processing industry has been closely related to the level and quality of life, and played an important role in the national economy; therefore, the research of the situation and the problems in this industry is very important. Based on the background of the agro-product processing in Xiamen, this paper will propose the practical countermeasures to assist the development of the emerging industry by analyzing the current situation and the existing problems.Firstly, this paper introduce a series of agro-industrial policy put forward by Xiamen government, and analyze the "three rural" development status of Xiamen depending on the Statistics Yearbook and the development of agro-industries under these policies. Secondly, this paper shows the status and the difficulties of the agro-product processing in Xiamen, and sums up that it is lacked the arable land, lessen of the labor, shorten of the technology content and the external increased competition, through the way of the visiting to enterprises and the model of Porter five forces. Finally, this paper proposes a series of policies, including the implementation of"Both sides in, Middle out", diversified the mode of operation, strengthened the government support and the trade cooperation with Taiwan, established the industry associations, optimized the industrial chain, and proposes the other countermeasures.
