The Cost Control Rules And Methods Of Epc Project For Power Plant

The high-speed development of economy in China caused great increase in construction and engineering, such as petrochemical industry, power plant, etc. In last ten years, the market of power plant construction was expanding quickly and the contract of EPC or BOT becomes the usual methods in those industries. Because of the complex system, long period of construction and high risk, it causes many kinds of problems in the execution of such contract of EPC/BOT project, especially the cost-controlling which is critical factor in executing project. Meantime, the cost-controlling is the key for our Chinese Contractor to win in the international market of power plant construction.In this article, I learn the theory and technical methods such as WBS, CPM and EV of Project Management and analysis the characters of power plant construction. On base of researching the elements of cost of power plant and main factors in different scopes of engineering, procurement and construction, using the technical tools of cost controlling of project management, to build up an effective management system of cost-controlling in order to satisfy the target cost.According to rules of the overall cost control, it is suggested that EPC Contractors can control cost by pre-control, supply chain management and strategic partnership, that is a attempt to improve cost control management of EPC project.
