Chongqing Three Gorges Reservoir County Sustainable Development Assessment And Guidance Mode

Chongqing is one of municipalities which have biggest surface area, more population, complex environments and backward economy and society. During three districts in Chongqing of metropolis, Yuxi Corridor and the Three-gorge Area, there are many difficulties of sustainable development in the Three-gorge Area. Based on evaluation over development condition and area differences, superiorities and potentialities, the most important and urgent tasks in Chongqing and the Three-gorge Area are: searching ways to sustainable development, coordinating relations between the condition of economy, society, resource, environment and development, resolving the problem of Farm, rural and agriculture, narrowing the gap in economy with the coastal areas, accelerating developmental process.The paper analyses and assesses sustainable development station of economy, society, resource and environment in the Three-gorge Area of Chongqing from time and space. And also it evaluates the degree of satisfaction in sustainable development. Based on the foregoing conclusions, the paper classifies nineteen counties into five type regions by cluster analyses. It is important to study condition and problems and its causes, to analyze the drive powers and its action processes in the Three-gorge Area of Chongqing. In order to search development ways, delineate development models and put forward relevant measures. These studies on development models have not only practical effect on the sustainable development in the Three-gorge Area, but also instructional meaning for else models regions in Chongqing and under-developed regions in western China.Based on foregoing analyses, this paper draws the conclusions:1: From time, the development tendency of economy, society and environment continuously rise in the Three-gorge Area during five years from 2000 to 2004, with economy quickly, society steady, environment better. While the condition of resource trends serious.2: From space, the problems including developmental situation and standard in most counties in the Three-gorge Area of Chongqing, remains grimly. Moreover in four systems, their objective state and their coordination are not better.3: From satisfaction degree, the developmental tendency is rising in the systems of economy, society, environment and resource and comprehensive standard. But from counties, the lower satisfaction degree in comprehensive standard is more than half.Based on the truth and foregoing conclusions, we put forward the sustainable development models, including that of rural economy, of small towns, science and technology sustaining etc. In the light of the objective state, we give countermeasures for development. The ways is feasible and practicable for sustainable development in the Three-gorge Area of Chongqing.Being part of advanced scientific research of area exploring, the paper have not only scholarly meanings, but also practical value. The models that drive from analysis and evaluation, can give referential example for similar reservoir regions.
