A, Telecom Inventory Classification And Inventory Management Strategy Study

With the deepening of the open policy in China telecom business, the market competition is more and more on the competition of supply chains. Therefore, reducing stock cost and improving service quality become more and more important. TELECOM A, as a provincial telecom operator with huge number of materials, many sorts of service, various standards and constant changing, however, still stays in the primary stage of experience-orientated management dealing with only receiving, delivering, and checking. As a result of completion, forming an overall inventory management strategy by reducing stock cost, improving inventory administrating quality is the a reasonable way to enhance the enterprise'competition power of supply chain. Thus, to optimize the inventory management in the environment of supply chain management is important for Telecom A both in theoretic and practical aspects.This paper intends to focus on Telecom A's inventory management problems. First of all, on the basis of the research on Telecom A's current way of stock material classification and the advantages and disadvantages of conventional ABC classification at the same time, also on the analysis of stock material characteristic in the environment of supply chain and the reasons for stock by the formula of"Total capital cost=Q×T×interest rate", I bring forward and carry out a reasonable stock material classification method for Telecom A in the environment of supply chain. Secondly, I bring forward"VMI-based centralized push administrating strategy"the basis of single-point inventory managing theory, and the features of Telecom A's communication terminals inventory management. This theory includes: a. to act"minimum-maximum inventory managing strategy"so as to realize the inventory supply in the environment of supply chain; b. to adopt VMI as the inventory managing method in the environment of supply chain; c. to control the stock in the terms of"Push Inventory Management"; d. to optimize the Multi-level warehouse with the idea of centralized inventory management; and e. by means of multi- echelon inventory to incarnate the feature of"central-controlled inventory"in the environment of supply chain. Thirdly, with the analysis to the key material—communication terminals, this paper works on the solution as well as working process to/of inventory management and multi-level warehouse's inventory control model and method in Telecom A. Fourthly, with the comparison to Telecom B's communication terminals material inventory management strategy, the paper studies the feasibility of inventory control model and indicates the further supporting measures and suggestions accordingly. Finally, expatiating in the aspects of comprehension, structure, function, and foundation, the paper offers the execution plan of Telecom A's communication terminals inventory management strategy.
