Improve The Competitiveness Of The Five Pillar Industries In Yunnan Province

Tobacco,development and innovation of biology resource, tourism, minerals and hydro-electricity are the five pillar industries for Yunnan province, since they contribute major portion of domestic product, provide enormous employment opportunities and gain significant status in whole social. Following the trend of economic globalization and regional integration, especially China- ASEAN Free Trade Area entered into a period of comprehensive and essential cooperation. Spontaneously, due to its unique regional and resource advantage, Yunnan province was pushed onto the frontier of regional cooperation with subsequent changing on its economy development way. Those five pillar industries also cannot avoid confronting the challenges as well as opportunities brought by the China-ASEAN free trade agreement.The purpose of this research was to understand the subject of development modes and strategy decision in the open economy, and then proposed the solutions for competitiveness enhancement of the five pillar industries.
