China has suffered tremendous loss from the anti-dumping measures imposed by the other countries around the world after China's access to the World Trade Organization. The issues of the anti-dumping measures mostly come from the nonrecognition of market-economic status (MES) by other countries. Therefore, the approval of the other courtiers in the world about the China's MES is becoming increasingly important and significant. Although China has made great progress on the approval of the MES among other countries, as the biggest single economic body, and because of its unique status, the approval of the United Stated has the extraordinary significance.By the examination of the WTO regulations, the documents of the accession to WTO of China and especially the domestic law of U.S., China has already been a market-economic body, thus China must have the approval of market-economic status of the United States naturally, according to the present economic conditions of China. China has endured lots of suffering in the activities of economic diplomacy on the issues of MES between China and the U.S.. The reasons why U.S. didn't approve China's MES are quite complex, including political and economical reasons. To sum up experiences and lessons and conclude the strategies and tactics of how to get the United States'approval of the market-economic status are extremely important. The text is composed of five chapters, covering the Summary of Market-Economic Status, the Relating Regulations and Rules of the MES, the General Economic Conditions of China after the Reform, the Activities of Economic Diplomacy between PRC and the US, and the Strategies and Tactics of Striving for MES.
