| Burial ceremony has a distinctive position in the life of people who lives in modern times. On one side, people think a lot of burial ceremony, but on the other side, people consider the burial ceremony as a kind of superstition. The disaccord between people's words and deeds aroused my interest in studying this phenomenon. Why people who now living a better life and knowing the world more comprehensive still think a lot of the burial ceremony which has been considered as a superstition? What kinds of reason droves people to think much of burial ceremony? Is that just a kind of superstition? If not, what kinds of structure and function does the burial ceremony have? Is there a function of education among them? And if it does have, how the function of burial ceremony happens and what its system is. Those questions aroused my interest of studying the relationship between the burial ceremony and education.On the basis of fieldwork, the thesis did a deep research and studied the education function of the burial ceremony, and broke through the formers research method. People who did former researches usually paid attention to the form of the burial ceremony and regarded it as a custom, giving a conclusion of the form just in archeological way but driving the burial ceremony out of modern education systems. This thesis had expected to do a deeper discuss about the burial ceremony through the pedagogical and anthropological analysis.To do a research on the culture of burial ceremony pedagogically and anthropologically was a huge task, which can be observed in various sides and angles. To handle the research easier and study the connotation deeper, the thesis finally chose Jien village in Congjiang country in Giuzhou province as the research object. Obeyed the anthropological mode and cultural materialistic method, the research expressed the educational function. It is the novelty of the object made the thesis had such innovations in the research methods.By the analysis of burial ceremony research, the thesis came to those conclusions as follows. Firstly, burial ceremony had the unique educational function. Secondly, distinctive living way trained the distinctive culture and education pattern. Thirdly, education is a long process, during which education and the ethical culture were connected together. Fourthly, Culture made education display various forms and different culture has different connotation and value pursuing, which ended in various educational ways. 5. Education didn't happen in a approach, but multi-ways. This gave the testifying of that education had various possibilities and that people's development had various ways. Sixthly, education existed in some given cultural area and it happened just in the cultural area. The multi-culture character of China's had worked that the areas of cultural education were multiplex. At the same time they still have something in common. By a serious of such research, we can have a all-around understanding of burial ceremony, and know that the transmitting of culture can take carious ways in the development of culture. Those conclusions are propitious to know and colonize theeducational resources all needed better.The study of educational function of burial ceremony in this thesis is just a primary try in anthropological and educational theory. The author has the urge of research but lack of demonstration, which will be made up in the further research, and make some contributions to the education research career. |
