The Industry of Refractory Materials were formed with the development of steal industry in the late 1950s in our country. Refractory materials industry system with production , study and research have been formed up in a comprehensive and complete set to 1980s. But, by reasons of macroeconomic contrals, the refractory materials market was declining and refractory materials were over-supplyed at 1993, from then on,the refractory materials industry have been in readjusting periods with the situations of over-supply .production-surplus .plants go out of business and plants layoffs.This article takes Chinese refractory materials plants as researching subject. This article briefly analyzed enterprise competition of strategic theory in first ,then systematically analyzed and researched the whole refractory materials industry and market. By doing so , this article comes to the conclusions that Chinese refractory materials markets are part and relative surplus, not overall and absolute surplus. Basing on enterprise competition of strategic management , brand management, ,and researching the market environment, advantages and problems of refractory materials enterprises under the circumstances of market competition will face. This article also anasyled the advantages, risks, availability and feasibility of general competitive strategy of enterprises, and comes to the conclusions that the competitive strategy of differentiation is suited to Chinese refractory materials enterprises under the circumstances of market over-supply. This article also centred on How To Make Larger and Stronger , how to improve the core competitive force of refractory materials enterprises, , this article raise the competitive strategy of differentiation on the basis of market over-supply. I hope that the refractory materials enterprises in our country can draw lessons from this article.
