In recent years, with the rapid development of the market globalization, logistics becomes one of the most important industries of our country. Especially, with the 21th Century coming, the key of the competition dominance for enterprises is to build logistic system which has a high performance. Distribution which contacts with the customers is an important part of the logistics, which is developping along with the logistcs development. It impulses logistics going forward. In terms of the logistics, distribution almost includes function elements of the logistics. It is the reduction of the logistics function. Therefor, the coming and development of the distribution is the necessary outcome of the development of the logistics. Distribution center is a crucial part of the distribution. Whether the distribution center location is good or not, it directly connect with the efficiency of the distribution, the logistic cost and the contentment of the customers and affect the whole business acting.This paper makes primary researches to the distribution center location on the basis of the prevalent ant colony optimization algorithm. The paper detailedly narrates the ant colony optimization algorithm's origin, character, application and foundational theory. Later, expounding for the ant colony optimization algorithm as follows:1) To the prevalent TSP, introducing the steps and methods of the ant colony optimization algorithm;2) introducing the strongpoints and shortcomings of the current ant colony optimization algorithm and improved methods coming from lots of experts;3) describing the clustering thought of the ant colony optimization algorithm; with the distribution center location model ,introducing the steps and some formulas of the algorithm;4) introducing the important roles of the major parameters of the algorithm and the improved methods of the ant colony optimization algorithm in this paper.Because of the difficulties of the ant colony algorithm, only counting on written calculations is impossible. Therefor, the paper introduces mathematics software-MATLAB (matrix laboratory) . It has also good practicability and the convenient effective computer procedure language. Its basic unit is matrix. It has strong viewable plotting function. Later, the paper analyses detailedly the parameters of the ant colony optimization algorithm in virtue of MATLAB, providing the track figure, making it clear and easy understanding. On the basis of the current theory , this paper improves a certain major paremeter of the algorithm and the rest of the parameters are groupped randomly . Then from the results it selects the most excellent solution, which can avoid getting into the most excellent local solution prematurely and avoid resulting in being debased in the ability of searching for the most excellent global solution. This is a new point of the paper. And then by analyzing the example, make sure the correctness and feasibility of the improved method of the ant colony optimization algorithm.This paper makes the research to the logistic distribution center location on the basis of the ant colony optimization algorithm and MATLAB which is convenient, rapid and has the clear videotex and outstanding functions which can deal with the figures. The above-mentioned are the excellent characters. Especially when the problem is complicated, its strong point is ascendent.
