Industrial structure adjustment and promotion are very important for macroscopic economical because it enhances the overall efficiency and the benefit of national economy by optimized the resources disposition structure. In open economy, especially in economical globalization thorough develop today, the international resources and essential factor flows and shifts may realize the industrial structure adjustment, it is an important and effective way to adjust the industrial structure through the foreign capital introduction and the foreign direct investment.At present, there are many researches in the domestic academic circles about the influence of foreign direct investment to the home industry structure adjustment, which had obtained many beneficial conclusions. However the research of influence between foreign direct investment and home industry structure adjustment are less. This mainly is because the Chinese foreign direct investment is small, and also at the start stage. But Taiwan, Japanese and US'S success experience had already proved that foreign direct investment might impel the promotion of industrial structure. And that should not be neglect. While China enter WTO and the industry competitive ability enhance day by day, the foreign direct investment will certainly become a new growth spot of Chinese economy, and will display more and more vital role in the domestic economic.Follows this mentality, this article launches the research to these questions: how the foreign direct investment to promote the adjustment in investment country's industrial structure, how China supposed to hold the good development opportunity, how China positively use the foreign direct investment to serve for the domestic industrial structure adjustment and so on. This article first proved the validity of foreign direct investment to promote the industrial structure through the theoretical analysis, and analyzed its function mechanism. Then carried on a real diagnosis inspection to US, Japan and Taiwan, which has obtains much enlightenment from those countries' development experience. The enlightenment will be applied to China in the third part to put forward foresightedness proposal to the Chinese foreign investment developmental strategy in each kind of industry as well as government's industrial policy and the foreign direct investment policy.
