Port Sustainable Development Research

As the joint of shipping and other modes of transportation, port is a very important infrastructure in a country's public transport system. With the development of international economy and the continuous strengthening of global communication, the competition among the ports aggravates increasingly. Under this circumstance, the research on the sustainable development of port becomes especially important.The first part of the dissertation deals with the gist of the sustainable development of port. Based on the importance of the port, this section expatiates on the definition of the sustainable development of port, analyzes the reason why it took place, its characteristics and current situation on the basis of demarcating the definition of the sustainable development of port.The second part of the dissertation mainly studies on the applying steps of system dynamics to the sustainable development of port. It has constructed the system dynamics model. The main purpose of this section is to educe every feedback cycles and to work out mathematics equations.System dynamic feedback cycles can help us to qualitative analyze the sustainable development of port, for port is a complicated system which made up of many interrelated parts. The mathematics equations can do the quantitative analysis, which provide foundation for the coming research.Setting Zhejiang province as example, the third part of dissertation applied system dynamics to make the evaluation.The following conclusions have been educed:1 .the system dynamics model of this dissertation is available: the index of port sustainable development was gained by expert investigation,filtration and evaluation; 2. The trace of the model of port sustainable development, based on the qualitative analysis, is accordant to the rule of port development.3. The feedback cycle of port sustainable development illuminates the interrelation among every factor of the port.4. Mathematics equations quantitative analyze the relation among every factor of port, which provide gist and reference for the following research.5. The research of ports in Zhejiang province testifies that system dynamics is applicable to the port sustainable development study.
