Innovation Theory And Policy Research

Innovation is the driving force of economic growth. Since Schumpeter put forward the concept of"innovation" in the work of "theory of economic development" in 1912, scholars from different countries had conducted in-depth and extensive research on the innovation theory and innovation policy, and also made a large number of research results.Can the market provide adequate incentives and reasonable allocation of resources for innovative activities? How the innovative activities conduct? What kind of policy measures can be used to improve the level of innovative activities? These are issues what we thought of the starting point of innovation, and also the core concerns of innovation theory and innovation policy.As different policy implications can be derived from different methods of theoretical analysis, and a direct impact on policy practice. In the development of analytical methods of economics, neo-classical economics and evolutionary economics both had been used to the research of innovation, and the policy implications have also infiltrated into practice by different countries. Based on this, this paper starts from two different methods of theoretical analysis, and study on different paths of the theory and policy research of innovation, and last to compare and integrated.This paper believes that the neo-classical economics and evolutionary economics within its own framework promote the research of innovation. However, because of the special nature of "innovation", two methods of theoretical analysis have inherent defects in the research of innovation, and further research of the innovation exist certain difficulties. Based on this, this paper argues that, first of all, in the methods of theoretical analysis level, two different methods can be comparison and reference, and adopt comprehensive methods and research path for innovation research. Secondly, in policy practice, two different policies implications should be given comprehensive consideration. In view of the status and the existing problems of theoretical research of innovation and policy practice of China, this paper presents the corresponding ideas and measures. From the perspective of theoretical research, the research of innovation of China needs to strengthen the contact of theory of economics; research of innovation should be placed in a standardized theory of economics. From the perspective of policy practice, the innovation policies of China should integrate two different perspectives of policy implications, and to establish an incentive compatible system of innovation policy.
