Yunnan Advanced Manufacturing Base Model Of Development And Support Systems Research

The current situation of Yunnan's industry that has been affected by the regional industry pattern developed under the long-time planning economy is that it has simple domains and similar structures; covers all aspects of industry; and are small in scale. This restricts its quick development. The whole industry system is a resource-use structure based on the use of natural resources, processing of primary raw materials, and the investment originally provided by the state. Yunnan's economic development is facing a severe pressure from resource, population and environment. To speed up the construction of advanced manufacturing bases can break the "resource bottle-neck". To quickly adjust the industry structure, to upgrade the industry and to develop economy at a big pace are consistent with Yunnan's goal to develop new industries.This paper applies cutting-edge theories of modern management, industrial organization, industrial economics, regional economics and information sciences to tackle problems arising in the development of Yunnan's industrial economy. The paper puts forward an individualized model to develop advanced manufacturing industry in Yunnan, thoughts and measures to support the industrial system construction.At present, Yunnan has eight important industries, namely, tobacco, chemical and paper making, energy, mineral production and processing, equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical, information, and food processing and manufacture. These industries are of some scales now. They tend to be concentrated in space. They have the characteristics of large-scale economy, scope economy, external economy that industrial enterprises possess. The division of technology that favors industry clustering is being enhanced, forming a long value chain. Based on Yunnan's eight key industries and industrial cluster, Yunnan has met the conditions to build advanced manufacturing bases. The construction of advanced manufacturing base in Yunnan will help Yunnan to break the "curse of resource" and accomplish fast-pace development of its economy. This paper consists of 6 sections. Part One is Introduction. This section mainly introduces major theories in building advanced manufacturing base, the purpose and significance of the research and the structure of the contents. Chapter two, after analyzing the construction of advanced manufacturing base in and outside China, it defines the concept of building advanced manufacturing base in Yunnan and explores models to build advanced manufacturing industry in Yunnan. Chapter three analyzes supporting systems to build advanced manufacturing base from the aspect of the industrial cluster in Yunnan. Chapter Four analyzes supporting systems of industrial technology innovation needed in building advanced manufacturing base in Yunnan. Chapter Five analyzes information supporting system in building advanced manufacturing base in Yunnan. Chapter Six analyzes government supporting systems involved in building advanced manufacturing base in Yunnan and puts forth relevant policy suggestions. Conclusion section summarizes important research conclusions of this paper and shortcomings of the research. It illustrates the direction of the future development.
