The rapid growth of economy has given rise to the multiplying number of tourists, which challenges the integrated capability of those hot scenic spots. In peak seasons, those scenic spots suffer from congestion and damage to their eco-environment. Therefore, the sustained development of the travel destinations has drawn the academic concern, making tourist environment capability of destinations worth researching. Presently, the research of tourist environment capability lays emphasis on the calculation methodology and the figuring of the numerical value of capability. However, the one dimensional process of calculating tourist resource space results in static theoretical value of spatial capability that doesn't reflect the actual tourist activates in the tourist destinations. Therefore, the conventional calculating method is not very applicable in that it cannot account for various problems of saturation and overloading. This thesis set off with a case study of a mountain destination——Tianzhu Mountain, attempting to set up a managerial model of tourist resource spatial capability which serves as analyzing the problems of saturation and overloading in tourist destinations.I. The current related domestic literature ignores the destination capability or the life cycle of the destination. Calculating research of theoretical value of basic capability within the frame of Butler theory of life cycle of tourism is conducted, proposing a mathematical formula for calculating tourist resource spatial capability, and a temporal sequence analysis of all basic capabilities is also conducted.II. The traditional tourism resources capability research is only theoretical, neglecting the real tourist spatial distribution. Based on the supply-demand theory, the actual supplying capability of the tourist resource is combined with the virtual temporal and spatial distribution of visitor flow, trying to set up an active model of tourist resource spatial capability which serves as analyzing the problems of Tianzhu Mountain.III. The historical data of Tianzhu Mountain is employed to set up a proposed statistic regression model for predicting visitor number. An overall analysis in temporal and spatial sequence is conducted on the present, past and future saturation and overloading status of Tianzhu Mountain. Corresponding strategies are proposed.
