China is a big hotel country in the 21st century. Hotel enterprises of China spread all over the world and form great industry. Hotel has wonderful development potential in stimulating consumption, promoting employment, adjusting industry structure and developing economy.Hotel groups of China have much difference in contrast to foreign ones in scale, strength, running mode and core competence. It is going to be a great challenge with foreign hotel groups coming in. Competence will be more and more severe. Great attention should be paid to how to enhance competitive strength soon. Many examples at home and abroad show that grouping is an inevitable way for hotel enterprises to survive, develop and strengthen. Grouping is also fit for the trend of the world economy development, it is also the basic method for resource optimization and competence ability promotion of hotel enterprise.Firstly, the paper studied the present status of hotel enterprise grouping at home and abroad, the difference between civil corporations and foreign ones was pointed by contrast analysis, then some useful hints were made out. The theory about hotel enterprises grouping were researched after the definition of the concept and function of hotel enterprise. Through theory analysis, some conclusion including reason, obstacle, grouping mode and development trend of hotel enterprise grouping was made out. Capital operation was effective approach of grouping. The strategy about capital operation for our hotel corporations was analyzed after collecting status quo. Beneficial countermeasure and scientific strategy should be set down for sustainable development of hotel enterprise grouping. Some work was finished in brand operation, management mode, internet technology, market position, human resource and concept innovation etc. Last, according to the case of COSCO, some practice study was made.
