New Trade Protectionism And Its Countermeasures

As international competition becomes more and more fierce, more countries, especially developed countries, employ New Trade Protectionism to protect the domestic interests which results in a great deal of trade conflicts and as a result, the interests of developing countries has been affected including China's.This thesis makes a clear definition of New Trade Protectionism and a detailed explanation of the tools and characteristics of New Trade Protectionism. It employs Strategic Trade Policy to analyze the causes of New Trade Protectionism and Big-Country Model and Small-Country Model to theoretically analyzes the impacts of New Trade Protectionism on welfare of importing countries. It creatively points out that New Trade Protectionism is not efficient to solve the problem of trade imbalance. Based on these this thesis come to the conclusion that how China could cope with New Trade Protectionism from the perspectives of the government, the Industry Guild and companies to make the foreign trade of China be stable.
