Along with the upsurge of international intra-industry trade after the world war two, the intra-industry trade has become a primary kind of trade between developed countries. The shortage of energy and the worsening of environmental problems have made the high-tech industry, which yields high additional values and has an efficient use of energy and material, to be a necessary way to develop the economy. In the recent years, the total export-import volume of our country grows steadily, and reaches a trade surplus in high-tech industry.Combining TCI index and GL index, this thesis calculates the intra-industry trade in high-tech area, and makes a comparative analysis of high tech in China, USA ,Japan and Korea, in the terms of intra-industry trade. This thesis finds problems existing in high-tech of our country, such as scarcity of product mix, and high dependence on foreign investment. Then we introduce the theory of industrial competitive strength, and we explorer the connections between the theory of industrial competitive strength and the intra-industrial trade. At last, it makes political suggestion to the development of high tech, in combination with related theories of intra-industry trade.
