Small And Medium-sized Bank's Core Business Systems Implementation Research

Core Banking System is of importance in the business operation of the banking system. We can do business work concerns deposits and loans accounts for users in the systems. Its principal functions include: customer information management, deposits, loans, as well as some day operations to those accounts.After nearly 20 years development, Core Banking System in China has now entered a stable stage. Also many financial IT enterprises have experienced a long-term development, and many companies have the competence to implement the system. At present many IT companies as well as some foreign companies have entered the market in China, which exacerbate the market competition.Because of the enormous pressure of market competition, various financial IT companies are doing efforts to adjust to the change of the market. The key of the problem is how to reduce the cost of implementation and upgrade customer satisfaction as far as possible. It has been contradictory between the two parties. Companies should spend more capital funds in the development to increase customer satisfaction, so it will improve the company's costs and reduce earnings. It is very important to ensure company's income, and at the same time consider customer contentment.Traditional implementation methods in core banking system are project-oriented. The implementation of the project-based approaches may include the following steps: do the requirements, design, do the development, testing, training and put into production. As the technique of implementation for small and medium-sized bank customers is not as mature as most large banks, so there are many drawbacks, such as the waste of resources in implementation, and put the customer in a passive position in the implementation.This paper presents a system implementation model based on prototype, After analyzing the problems in the existing project implementation, we advise that the current methods of implementation in the project should be adjusted to accommodate small and medium-sized banks, and the implementation mode should be transformed from project mode to prototype mode. We should partition the core banking business system detailedly, and improve the efficiency and product quality. The satisfaction of customer is a matter of primary importance. It must be a better way to implement the system step by step to reduce risk of system implementation. Pay more attention to system maintenance, and optimize the system during implementation process.With the development of banking business and the implementation of core business systems, company has accumulated a large number of experiences in the implementation in core banking system. We can use these experiences in new project and the implementation based on prototype will become an inevitable trend in the development, and be applied by more and more companies.
