The real estate industry has been developing dramatically in China, along with the enlargement of the infrastructure investment, the speed-up of urbanized advancement, and China joining WTO in recent years. However, the real estate industry is the one where the risk is extremely high and the competition is exceptionally intense. To take on those challenges, the real estate enterprise has to form and retain its core competencies, which is mostly contributed by establishing and keeping the stability of its talented staff. Due to that this industry is still in the developing phase, the appropriate mechanism of staff motivation hasn't been well established which is leading to the un-stability of talented staff. It adversely affects the survival and development of those real estate enterprises.At present many enterprises have put tremendous effort on studying how to improve their motivation mechanism and process in order to keep their talents, which is very hot research topic in the economic field as well. There are intensive discussions and a lot of accomplishments in respect to its theoretical study and concrete application in different industries. But there is very little study made in the real estate industry so far.Therefore, in this paper, with intensive study in the related motivation theory and application case analysis in other industries, I explain in detail how to establish the mechanism of staff motivation in a Chinese real estate enterprise according to its characteristics.In this paper, one Chinese real estate company is taken as example. According to the need theory, five types of motivation methods are designed based on the industry characteristics as well as employees' different personality and ability.In addition, it is discussed how salary and performance management systems can be enhanced to support effective motivation mechanism.
