| Nowadays under the background of economic globalization, regional economic relations are closer and closer; and the international domestic competitions are fierce. The regional logistics becomes a new growth engine as an important component of the regional economy. Although the important status of the regional logistics, the Chinese scholars are relatively insufficient in the research of regional logistics industry organization. The regional logistics industry organization research is the bases on which the government makes logistics industry's development policies and on which logistics enterprises make their development strategies. In view of these issues, this thesis constructs a thorough regional logistics SCP framework which fits the regional logistics characteristics. The thesis analyzes background that regional logistics industry organization as well.This thesis has three parts: Part one constructs a SCP analysis framework of regional logistics; Part two analyzes the regional background influencing the regional logistics industry organization; The last part takes empirical analysis on Qingdao.The first part reviews basic theories such as the concept, composition, characteristic of regional logistics industry and proposes that regional logistics industry is formed by regional foundation industry, regional transport service, and regional information industry. Then on the theories of industrial organization and the characteristic of regional logistics industry, this part constructs a SCP analysis framework of regional logistics industry and puts forward a new evaluation index of the market structure and market performance. Finally this part introduces industry life theory. Through the constructed SCP analysis framework of regional logistics industry and industry life cycle theory, we can infer the characteristics of regional logistics industry and the stage which regional logistics industry is in. The second part reviews the definitions of regional logistics supply and demand at first. A new definition is put forward. Then this part analyzes background of the regional logistics supply and demand. The influences of three aspects on the regional logistics industry supply structure are reviewed including development level of the regional economy, the regional policy of logistics industry, and regional infrastructure. Four aspects such as state of development, regional industrial policy, regional geographical position and regional economies integration exert an influence on the demand of regional logistics industry. Finally, this part analyzes the regional background which influences market structure, market behavior and market performance of regional logistics market. Among them the market structure is directly influenced. According to these analyses, we can better understand the results of regional logistics SCP analyses, and we can make logistics industry's development policies for the government and offer support to logistics enterprise's development strategy.According to the theory framework constructed in the first and the second part, and the survey of the logistics industry of Qingdao, the third part conducts empirical analysis on Qingdao logistics industry. The results of the SCP analysis of Qingdao logistics industry reveals: The market structure of Qingdao logistics industry has a low intensity. There is no regulation barrier from the government. Market behavior is mostly price-related behavior. There are product-difference competition behaviors and alliance behavior;The market performance is better than the average level China, but the absolute level of performance is still relatively low. According to industry life cycle theory, the logistics industry of Qingdao is between the growing-up stage and the ripe stage. According to the result of SCP analysis, position of Qingdao, and the regional background analysis, this part proposes: The government should (1) encourage productive enterprise to outsource the logistics business, (2) improve logistics quality of third party enterprises, (3) develop logistics industry on industry's cluster advantage, (4) lead enterprises to pay close attention to the alliance and mergence, (5) build the public logistics information platform, and etc. This part is for the reference of government. |
